About Sharp’s Academy

Sharp’s Academy of Hairstyling, Inc. was founded in 1984 by Patricia Sharp to provide a personal approach to Cosmetology training in the greater Flint area. This is achieved through the personal attention each student receives in addressing their particular needs, small class size, and instructors who are dedicated to the eduational needs of the student.

At Sharp’s, our goal is to provide an atmosphere that will encourage the student toward both personal and professional growth, so that the Sharp’s graduate is a confident, well-trained professional, ready to take on any challenge in his or her chosen field of Cosmetology. Many of our students go on to win awards and recognition for their work.

Sharp’s Academy of Hairstyling is accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Technology (ACCSCT). Sharp’s received the School of Distinction Award from ACCSCT in 2009.

  1. Hello. My name is Catherine . I grew up in Saginaw, but currently live in Tampa Florida. I am researching “beauty schools” that were running the mid to late 1960s. I have done some searching and it seems like the industry wasnt regulated enough for me to just look at state licenses from that era.Would you know anyone that worked or taught in Flint in the late 1960s.? ANY information would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a birth mother and birth grandmother for my that were listed as “beauticians” in 1967. I am trying to help my best friend from college. She was born in flint in 1967. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

PS.. My grandmother was named RUBY SHARP from Saginaw area.
